Meet Samson, my daughter's 14 year old cat. He doesn't get around very quickly anymore, but loves to bask in the sun and wishes he were still agile enough to chase the birds.
This is Columbus, one of our two new "barn" cats. We adopted him and his brother Turbo when the farm where they used to stay was sold and they needed a new home. He was named Columbus because he likes to explore everything. He is the first one out and about in the morning and the last one in at night.
This is Columbus' brother Turbo, named for his turbo-charged purr motor. He hangs out by our barn while his brother goes off exploring. He likes to lay upside down in your arms while you rub his belly.
Our 15 year old black cat Moonshine likes to lay on the edge of counters and tables and move his two paws up and down as if he is praying. He has been doing this since he was very young.
Phantom is a great mouse hunter who seems to catch at least one a day. Between his hunting escapades he lives a spoiled life, often lounging on the furniture.
For an entire winter Phantom would visit through the door window in the middle of the night with our other cat Moonshine, but disappear in a flash if he saw us. Gradually he got tamer and decided to move in. We could not have found a sweeter cat to join our family.
Phantom survived outside on his own for the very cold winter before we took him in, so he is an excellent hunter. He likes to postion himself in a spot where he can see rodents running along their paths.
We have to be careful about leaving drink glasses sitting around since Moonshine likes to dip his paw in for a taste. Here he is reaching to the bottom of the glass to get the last of a blueberry smoothie.
Our older cat Moonshine loves to stick his head in bags. In this case it was an empty nutritional yeast bag. He happily groomed it all off and wanted more.
