Goldfinches Eating Sunflower Seeds Print E-mail

Normally the goldfinches dine on niger seed, but when it is very cold and windy they need more energy.  This pair is eating sunflower seeds to help them stay warm.  They are both just starting to show some brighter yellow in their faces as they get a head start on their spring molting.
