this Hermit Thrush flew out in front of my truck as I was driving through a densely wooded area. He landed on a bush right by the side of the road and let me stop and photograph him through the open truck window.
I was enjoying the mix of regular and migrating birds in our front yard when this Hermit Thrush landed on the feeder box right in front of me. Fortunately my camera was pointed in his direction, so I was able to get this photo without spooking him. He only stayed for about 15 seconds before flying off to the woods across the road. This is the second year in a row that I have seen one in our yard when they are migrating South.
I was trying to get shots of a kinglet when this Hermit Thrush landed nearby. He was migrating through. While I have heard them in the woods before, this is the first one I have seen.
