Blackbird - Red-winged

Male Red-winged Blackbird on Ornamental Grass - June 4, 2014

A neighbor invited me over to his pond where lots of Red-winged Blackbird pairs are nesting. This male was guarding his nest, perching on the ornamental grass growing along the pond edge. He had one wing feather sticking out, not quite ready to let go.
