Bunting - Indigo Bunting

2nd Year Male Indigo Bunting - July 27, 2008

I was puzzled at first as to what this bird could be. It is a 2nd year male Indigo Bunting. I checked with an expert to determine this. In the second year the male Indigo Bunting is mostly blue with brown mottling. He doesn't get his brilliant solid blue coloring until the 3rd year.
