Cedar Waxwing #1 in Spruce Tree - February 13, 2009
This is one of 12 Cedar Waxwings that landed in the top of a spruce tree by our road late this afternoon. I approached the tree slowly getting shots ever 5 feet or so. They let me get within 10 feet of the tree, then I slowly circled it to get the best angle. I was amazed that such spooky birds were so trusting of my presence. They were still in the tree when I finally left with my hands numb from the cold wind.
