Male Northern Shoveler - March 27, 2011
A group of 8 Northern Shovelers were feeding in the pool by the entry to the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge visitors center. There were 2 females and 6 males. They feed by sweeping their broad, spatula shaped bill from side to side as they swim through the water.
