Goldfinch Picking at Thistle - August 20, 2012 - Video Attached

I saw lots of thistle fluff drifting in the afternoon breeze. When I investigated why there was so much in the air, I saw a pair of Goldfinches yanking them out of thistle seed heads as fast as they could. This is a shot of the female. In the attached video, notice the male eats the seed at the end of the fluff on every 5th or 6th yank.
