Flicker Basking in Morning Sun - April 17, 2011

I saw a brownish blob in the top of a gray poplar tree while driving by. When I backed up to take a closer look, it turned out to be a Flicker enjoying the warmth of the morning sun. This is the third Flicker I have seen over the past week. I have also been hearing raucous Flicker territory calls in our woods.
