Killdeer

Killdeer Nest - Four Eggs - June 17, 2012

This Killdeer nest is near the middle of a neighbor's horse riding arena. Very little effort was expended to place a few pieces of wood around a patch of sand so that the nest is very well camouflaged. The eggs blend in so well, that it was just by chance that the nest was spotted. I am checking the nest every morning in hopes of getting newborn chick photos.
