Newborn Killdeer Chicks - June 2005

Three of the Killdeer eggs in a nest in our horse arena had hatched. The fourth hatched soon after this photo was taken. Within hours the chicks were racing around the arena and horse paddocks causing great stress for the parents who were trying their best to protect them.
