Sparrow - Tree Sparrow

Tree Sparrow in Thicket - November 9, 2012

I was walking along Towpath Road at the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge when a flock of small birds zoomed across in front of me and spread out along the thickets. I was delighted to see my first Tree Sparrows this fall. The morning sun was highlighting this one's colors nicely. They seem to be a bit early this year; normally I don't see them until mid to late December.
