<p> Two female White-winged Crossbills flew into our feeder area for about 5 minutes this morning. They enjoyed some sunflower seeds, then flew off to the north. Their principal diet is conifer seeds. Their unique crossbill beak allows them to spread cone scales while removing the seed with their tongue.</p>
